Hello! OH MY GOD IT'S AUGUST!!! Half the summer has gone. Where has it gone?! I don't know... *sob*
Anyway! On with my favourite things of July!
So firstly, I have Olympic fever. There, I said it. The Olympics has to be my biggest favourite this morning, I've been loving it! I have barely watched anything else that's been on the t.v, there's always something I want to watch on! I've been particularly enjoying the women's artistic gymnastics, the synchronised diving (especially the mens, mmmmm...) the swimming, the equestrian, the canoe slalem, the fencing, it's great! I'm actually watching the equestrian team showjumping at the moment, me and my sister have been glued to the equestrian coverage for days as we're quite the horsewomen haha! So yes, the London 2012 Olympic games have been one of my favourite things this month!
My next favourite for this month has been magazine freebies! There's not a whole lot to say on this because I have already written a post about it here, but I have loved how many magazines have had great freebies this month! Another favourite that I've already written a post about here, is this month's Glossybox. I hadn't been too happy with what Glossybox have been sending me in their boxes recently, but I was quite happy with what I was sent this month, and I have seen that other people got great products like the Nuxe dry oil, and the Paul Mitchell awapuhi moisture mist. I think Glossybox included great selection of products this month in their various boxes and I'd have been happy to receive any of them!
So for my more beauty related favourites, this month I have continued to love my Figs&Rouge Pomegranate Balm, I've been applying it almost every day, I have also been wearing my VIVO baked blush in the shade peaches and cream every day and I LOVE it!! I have already written a post all about how much I love it here that includes some close up swatches etc. I've been using my E.L.F studio blush brush every day as well to apply my VIVO blush and it does a really nice job! I've also been using my Garnier BB cream almost every day in July too because I haven't felt like wearing too much on my face because it's been a bit humid here in the UK!
So that's what I've been loving in July! I've got a couple of ideas in the pipeline for a series or two, so hopefully they'll be popping up here and there in the near future, and I'm currently on a spending ban because I have way too much stuff and not a great deal of money, so, it makes sense to stop buying more stuff... haha! So some shopping the stash type posts might be appearing too, and reviews and all sorts of things basically!

Monthly Favourites: June 2012
Hello! I can't believe it's already been a month since my May Favourites post! I've been quite busy since then, working quite a lot and the time has gone so quickly, it's unreal that it's July already! Anyway, on with my favourites! These have been my staples through June:

So, starting off with another weird favourite, at the beginning of the month I bought this, a mid-year diary. Yes, it sounds boring, who cares! Well, for your information, I get quite excited about stationary, especially when it's a bit different or pretty. I got this mainly because I've got a couple of part time jobs at the moment, I'm doing overtime, and scheduling various meet-ups with friends, so I needed something to keep in my bag so that I can keep up with where I'm supposed to be when, and so that I don't forget anything, and how cool is this one?! It's a little A6 diary from WHSmiths (perfect for keeping in my bag without taking up too much valuable space or making my bag too heavy) It's a week-to-view diary too, so I can see what's going on all week in a double page which is nice, and it means I don't have to do too much flicking between pages when I'm arranging something, always handy! What Sold this to me though, was the cover of the diary. I was naturally attracted to the pretty, pastel, floral, Cath Kidston type diaries which I absolutely love, but then I saw this one, and it was just so cool and quirky, I knew I had to have it! The cover is made of a silicone material and it has little raised cylinders that make it look just like lego! There is also a little flap that attaches to the diary on 2 of the little raised bits and fastens the diary covers together so that it doesn't fall open in your bag and become dog-eared and tatty. £10 well spent!
Lily Cole for the Body Shop Pearl Radiance Primer
E.L.F Studio Powder Brush
Jemma Kidd Make-up School I-Glamour Define Eyeliner in Black
Figs & Rouge Pomegranate Lips, Face, Hands and Body Balm
So this has been quite a short post this month (aside from my huge diary digression) with not many products mentioned, but to be honest I've been mixing things up a lot this month, using lots of different products and trying loads of new things out, and these are the only things that I've been using nearly every day, or for the majority of the month, so I'm not going to tell fibs and put loads more products in this just for the sake of it, I would like to keep my blog as an honest place afterall! As I always say, this is only a short post to say what I've been using the most this month and I intend to follow up with reviews and more information of the products mentioned, so look out for those!

Monthly Favourites: May 2012
Hello! So I thought I'd do my first post about my favourite things of the month! I'm going to keep these posts wide open and not restrict them to any particular genre or area, and just write about my favourite things - whatever they may be - from the month!
So my first favourite of this month is a bit of a strange one, definitely not the usual sort of thing to be featured in this sort of post.. It's a juicer! Yes that's right, a juicer. Strange I know, but I have started using a juicer this month and I love it! I have realised that I have a great deal to say about juicers, so I will save all that for a separate post, but I'm including the juicer in my monthly favourites because I have been really enjoying using it and drinking my freshly made juices this month!
My second favourite for this month, is Marie Claire magazine! This month Marie Claire were offering body shop cheek and lip tints as a free gift with the magazine in 2 different shades, as if that wasn't enticing enough, the cover was filled with a huge glossy picture of Angelina Jolie, who was looking absolutely radiant! She looks so beautiful - I'm going to work on recreating her cover look for a blog post - and the page of black and white photos of her are stunning, and really fun! I have really enjoyed my copy of Marie Claire this month and I have actually now subscribed! So I'm eagerly awaiting the next issue!
The next thing I want to mention is Ikea, I have been in great need of some storage solution for my room, seeing as it hasn't been the tidiest recently! So where else to go than Ikea?! All I'll say for now is that I've found a great solution, and more to come in another post! But for that reason, Ikea is one of my favourite things this month, I've paid them 2 visits, done a reasonable amount of D.I.Y and bought some lovely things that go in my room very well, Ikea have a great selection of, well, everything really, and they're currently stocking some lovely items, so I'd recommend getting down and checking it out, especially with the cheap and cheerful prices!
Another of my favourite things this month has been my black maxi skirt from New Look. We've had some lovely hot weather in England for the last week in May, and it's actually felt like summer for once! The only problem is that it crept up so suddenly that I didn't have much time to prepare for wearing shorts! (My legs are so hideously pale that they're actually luminous and reflective in the sunlight, very embarrassing) I'm not a huge fake tan expert, in fact, I usually don't bother with it because it can tend to look dirty or very orange and too dark on my extremely pale skin. So my maxi skirt has been a life saver in this situation and I have been wearing it all the time whilst it's been sunny. It's just a plain black maxi skirt that's quite loose, it's made of a jersey material and is lovely and light and flowy, not only a May favourite but a summer staple if the nice weather sticks around!
My next favourites come under the umbrella of makeup. This month I've been using my Garnier BB cream seeing as it's been sunny and I haven't felt like putting on lots of heavy makeup. This has been nice and light on my face in the warm weather, I've also been using my Benefit Cha Cha Tint along with this, because I feel like tints or stains go well with tinted moisturisers and BB creams. I've also been using my Body Shop Highlighter almost every day, which has been helping me to achieve a summery glow!
My final favourite is a bit of a sad one, I must say, but it's a book that I've really enjoyed reading (and studying) not only through May, but since February. Catullus' complete collection is something I have been fascinated with and I have actually been studying it for a module at uni, but I've absolutely loved it and I'm actually really sad to have finished the module! So I would like to share this little bit of culture and recommend Catullus' poetry collection!
I realise that some of these mentions have been quite brief, but I want to save more information for full posts on some of the things, so that I can go into a bit more detail and talk about them more, I'm going to save these monthly favourite posts for just mentioning things I've been enjoying and possibly talk further about some of the things in more detail in other posts!
